As is often the case, the club again owes thanks to Belinda van Tienen for sourcing a venue and organising the closing function following the HWC Championships, the function being a fantastic success.

Congratulations to Sam Coffa and Pedro Sanchez

Congratulations are extended to Sam Coffa and Pedro Sanchez who will again be on hand for an IWF competition, this time the 2009 World Championships in Korea. HWC is proud to have not only its athletes, but also its officials at the highest level of weightlifting.

Thanks for Alby Dutton BBQ Donations

Special thanks are extened to all who gave so generously at the closing BBQ at the 2009 Alby Dutton Memorial Cup. These funds will help our participants at the 2009 National Age Championships and Senior Invitational event.

Congratulations to Simplice Ribouem on becoming one of HWC's top 15 Male Weightlifters based on the Sinclair forumla. Well done Simplice!

Congratulations to Sam Coffa

Congratulations go to Sam Coffa for being re-elecetd Chairman of the IWF Technical Committee. This will see Sam extend his position in this role until at least 2013, when the next IWF elections are to be held.
